No turn signals
Today I tried wiring in some additional reverse lights on my '06 E350, and lost my turn signals.
They were just some cheap ones from Auto zone mounted under the bumper. Anyway, I spliced the new light's power wire into the power wire right behind the stock reverse light's bulb, then grounded the new light to the frame. After I was done the additional reverse lights worked fine coming on and off as reverse was selected and deselected.
Everything else works fine even the corner lights, but I have no turn signals and the arrows don't light up on the dash. Removing the added reverse lights and resetting everything to stock didn't fix the problem. All of the fuses look good, but a wicked storm blew in and kept me from checking much beyond that.
The truck has to be on a barge for mainland in a couple days so I don't have much time to chase this. Any ideas for things I should try once this storm breaks up? Any help would be great.
It appears something in the turn signal circuit has been affected which could be as simple as a fuse or the column mounted multi-function switch has co-incidentally failed. Do you still have wiper motor control?
If you don't have or aren't using some sort of factory wiring schematic download one, bare minimum find a fuse chart which includes fuses and locations of the Battery Junction Box (aka underhood) in order to test the turn signal system. The owners manual should have a fuse chart otherwise a factory EVTM definitely has those.
I don't believe tapping into the reverse lights would affect the turn signals unless you're somehow damaged wiring near the point of connection for the additional lights. Because the dash indicators don't come on strongly suggests the multi-function switch----those are designed to illuminate when/if a bulb on one side or the other has failed---its a warning feature.
Moderator Franklin can probably talk you through this more easily than I could. He seems to have an endless supply of schematics for almost anything Ford makes.

You did actually check the fuses with a light or meter?
I didn't get to check with the meter last night just a quick visual due to the storm. My plan for today is to run through everything with the meter. If that doesn't work I'll throw it up on the electrical forum with what I've learned.
