Burnouts

Does doing burnouts around corners destory the trucks drivetrain. I have a 5spd and i'm buying new tires so there is no better way to use up the ones i have on it. I just don't want the transmission to fall out of it if i do them. I know wheelhop kills the transmission but if there is no wheelhop, will it break. There is 70,000 miles and still on the original clutch.

Burnouts

Unless you shock the drivetrain by slamming the clutch or something, I don't see where spinning your tire is going to hurt anything but the tire, provided you do NOT have posi-traction, in which case the clutches in the rear end possibly could be subject to some abuse over a lot of turn-burns. Why don't you take it to a burnout contest. I saw this in a magazine where they have these contests and your car is pushed up against an immovable object and the ground slickened for the initial breakloose, then they burn um till they pop! Apparently the one who goes the longest is the winner. Would think the EPA would get down on all that nasty smoke though.
