Exclamation 1995 F250 problems

1995 F250 7.3l with auto trans, 210,000miles, can't hear turbo spool tell around 2100rpm, can't get engine to blow smoke at all, although it smokes at start up, tested vacuum pulled 20 in, replaced air, fuel, oil, filter, and fuel economy varies but mostly sucks. need help i drive fifty miles a day on one Montana's worst roads

With your symptoms i would have to say your truck has a problem with being bone stock. All that is normal... Technically diesels dont create vacuum, so if you want to check boost hook up a boost gauge in the MAP line stock truck should be around 15 under load. 2100rpm is about right it wont be very loud at all and as for smoke thats good if it doesnt smoke... black smoke is just means wasted fuel or means big power for modified trucks. your not going to get a stock truck to smoke unless its a stick and still it wont be much... Fuel mileage should be about 15-18 hwy and depending how its driven on back roads and for hilly terrain it is about 12-15 mpg... For turbo sound get a 4" or 5" turbo-back exhaust, and High flow intake. For more power/fuel mileage or smoke get a chip.

Yes, don't feel bad. My truck is also afflicted with (practically) bonestockitis and exhibits the same symptoms.

it only took me two weeks to go from "I love this truck!" to "I want more; more power, more acceleration, more sound, more traction, and more smoke sure wouldn't hurt either!" now i have a chip, straight pipe exhaust, K&N air filter, but then realized from joining this site that i am doing all the wrong stuff. So now i am getting a 6637 to ditch the K&N, TW to replace the edge, and am looking into getting a 3" down pipe. I just put in a TC lock switch and EBPV switch, and i have the resistor for the 140v idm mod.

EDIT: forgot to list the tires, BFG M/T km1's 265/75R16.

Don't buy the edge... doesn't do much for our trucks. Best ones are Tony Wildman chips, or DP. Stay away from edge, superchips, banks, bullydog, etc. They will help a little but not as much as a custom burned chip.

Could be your ICP sensor... search for threads about ICP sensors and it'll tell you how to test that.

The idle issue could be as simple as an oil change if it hasn't been done for a while
