Well, some of y'all saw these in the other thread, but here we go again:

Things done so far: some rust repairs, full front end rebuild (ball joints, tie rods, custom steering damper), hybrid F250/350/F-Superduty leaf packs in the rear, staggered fuel filters, manual TC lockup control with brake interlock, manual high idle, GPC with manual override, lots of lights (automatic with manual overrides), and other electronic goodies.

my 94 F350 7.3l IDI factory turbo dubbed the Land Yatch due to its length and turning radius. I put a mild shift kit in it, A piller pod with boost pyro and trans temp, modifyed my stock oil presure gauge to be an actual gauge, added a TC lock up indicator LED and a manual lock up switch. Right now I'm working on my 7.3/6.9 hybrid motor I'm putting in to get it running again.

Oh I forgot the important mods. Mossy oaks steeringwheel cover and a roll-o-duct tape cup holder on the trany hump. And strait piped exaust.

Bought my truck basically bone stock with a full load (power options work!), C6 auto and 4.10 gears. At first I thought I had 3.55s because the tach only went up to 2300. Basically the PO never went past 55 with it so the tach got sticky in the high end!!! Never saw a man so sorry to see an old truck leave so this was a well loved machine in its previous life despite all the rough edges. Truck had a thick layer of rubberized undercoating that was NOT covering up any rust. There was grey primer and red overspray visible on the spots that wear out behind the front wheels.

After hitting the governor at 70 MPH and getting single digit MPGs, I knew the whole truth that I in fact had 4.10s and the 3.08s were ordered, and that marked the start of my modding.

Next mod was to raise the rear bench by 4" seat to make it more comfortable,

Ram intake,

Reclining leather front buckets,

Repaired trip meter,

Used ATS turbo kit initially with 3" strait pipe, later added a muffler,

Overhead gauge pod for EGT and boost gauges,

custom build up E4OD transmission (too much to list or remember) with BW 1356 transfer case and aftermarket programable controller,

Manual on/ auto/ off glow plug bypass switch,

Rebuild engine with 20 thou off the pistons and 30 off the bore, ARP head studs and grade 8 manifold studs

Replaced king pins,

Currently running without radiator fan (will reinstall soon)

(130 KPH = 79.5 MPH)

Rust is getting bad enough that I will have to do something before making it live through another winter of road salt. Fenders, doors and box are all write offs but cab and frame are good and it drives like new. Have plans to make all composite replacements and end the rust problem for good.

David85,
Your truck is a 2wd, correct? Transfer case just planning for future mods?

Yep, still 2wd, but the transfer case and E4OD core came as a set for $400 CAD locally along with a good drive shaft. In the end it was actually cheaper to keep the transfer case then get a 3rd driveshaft or pay a shop to mod my old one. Converting the tranny to 2wd would have also been an added expense. I use low range sometimes simply because I can, not because I ever have to.

Would like to drop some sort of front axle under there some day, but finding a D44HD from a 1978 F250 isn't easy. Maybe one winter when I get it really badly stuck (and mad enough), I'll just bite the bullet and get a D44 TTB from a 80-96 light F250 and put the 3.07s in there.

Thought about regearing to 3.55s so I could then use a regular D60 HP, but I don't think I could bring myself to swap out the 3.08s.

I've driven the truck up to 70 MPH on hard packed snow and it handles well enough, so I can still get by in winter I just have to know my limit. The rust is a more pressing matter, and I have too many projects on the go to start a 4wd conversion even if it would be a fairly fast swap.

Have a car project that needs to be mostly wrapped up by summer, so that takes first priority.

thanx for the complement... it turned out way beter than I ever thought it would... there was some sweat involved to get it to where it is, and a bit of blood loss, lol... but well worth it...

no real problems to do the front clip... took me and dad a weekend to do.... but that did include some beer breaks... might have been more beer breaks than workin...lol

I'm starting to feel a little self conscious now. All you guys seem to already have the rust demon licked or at least on the run.

Farmboy, I only saw your truck from your avatar before. I didn't realize it was so clean. Well done.

GoodBoy.......I wouldn't hesitate to enter that truck in a show & shine.

Not quite the case for me - I have the rust cut out, and I have patch panels over it - I have three aluminum panels per side over my dually fenders, and two steel panels per side over my inner fenders, all is bolted down with sheetmetal screws - not super pretty, but takes care of the gaping rust holes, and when painted looks okay from 20ft.

I'll play.

87 F-250 4x4 c6 ATS 093, 3" downpipe upgrade, 3" exhaust with muffler that is soon to be removed, Gear venders over/under, perma cool tranny filter/temp gauge, aux fuel tank

Had a 7.3 when i bought it, but my first towing trip it melted a piston. Just dropped in a 6.9 with arp studs.

ZF-5, intercooler and some WMO in its future. And maybe a repaint as well.

Ok, thats what I had thought, since you have brought up the 3.08 front end availability issue before.
Then the picture of the interior really threw me when I saw the T-case shifter on the floor.
