Ok , so I'm on the road this week and next. Southern Idaho to Colorado Springs CO to Rapid City, SD and back to Idaho. good test for the new pump.
I scaled my truck and trailer before we left, 26,160 lbs. We are running mostly interstate this run, but as anyone out west knows the elevation changes anywhere from 2500 to 9000 ft. repeatedly. Nasty weather, 30-40 mph cross winds, head winds, blowing snow, the works. Now the good stuff.
THIS THING FREAKIN ROCKS!!!!! This was the seat of the pants feeling that I was expecting when I bought it. The power band and torque curve is soooo flat now. It just pulls and pulls and pulls. This is the best $500 I've spent in a long long time. I never could get the pyro alarm to go off. Before I could set the alarm just getting on the on ramp! no smoke just solid power!!! Mileage I haven't check yet but with the weather and terrain I don't expect much.
Numbers--- ok I had the scanner hooked up while we were runnin down the road.
65 mph 2675 PSI 41 % duty cycle
70 mph 2750 PSI 41 % duty cycle.
Before I was only able to hold some where around 1800-1900 at 90 % duty
both test are in 50 hp tow setting.
Now I have to tell you a story. We are pulling I84 between Roy UT (4400 ft elv.) and Echo Canyon road up to Evanston Wy(6700 ft elv.) Its basicly 70 miles of uphill twisting roads. speed limit 75 with 55 mph corners. I'M HAVING TO SLOW DOWN FOR THE CORNERS!! We're talking uphill canyon carving with 26,000 lbs!! My wife finally told me I had to stop giggling.
Then she took over driving crossing Elk Mountain and she started giggling.
Bottom line. It works. If you tow you will love it. I've been thinking about all these WOT test runs. who cares? I don't drive my truck WOT. I tow and this pump works for what I do. My truck has never run this good. never sounded this smooth. this is the way Ford/IH should have built it to start with.
I could go on and on. But I'm in love with my truck again.

I don't know much, but your numbers kinda seem high for driving down the road at 65 mph.. I would have expected to see under 2000 psi and more like 25% duty cycle

X2. Really interested in the bottom and mid range power.
Was the tune bill's or jody's? I believe jody's tunes might
have to much advance with this new pump.
Madvan, I'm running tunes from Bill at PowerHungry Performance. I believe you may be correct about Jody's tunes. Mid range and bottom end is unbelievable, with my 2 speed I can keep the engine right at 2000-2250 rpm and it just pulls hard.
Robin, the numbers are so much better than before. but the SOTP dyno says its a different truck. Being able to pull like this and not have the motor wound up to the nuts is such a good feeling. I expect to see a large improvment in economy once I get back to "level" ground.
On another note, thanks to Bdrummonds for the Part # of the Big Boost AFE tymar replacement. that filter rocks

You have to remember that he has a 550 probly 4.88 gears so his revs are pretty high. I know with 4.10's 60 is 2k rpm's.
