Parking brake cable!

I just snapped the parking brake cable on my 2003 F-250 Supercab. It snapped at the pedal. I removed everything and it seems like it's a two cable setup?

How difficult of a job is this to do?

Where are the parts available?

Are both cables sold together or seperately?

Anyone have a picture of how the cable attaches to the lever?

Anything else I'm missing?

Thanks in advance for any help.

It looks like there actually three cables... front, intermediate, and rear cables.

Front Cable - $20.40

Yes, there are three cables, thanks for pointing that out. I'm going to get the cables and give it a shot.

Few questions about installing:

How does the cable route around the brake lever? Anyone have a picture or scan from a manual?

Speaking of manuals - Who has a good manual for my truck? I'm not sure if something like replacing these cables is covered in a manal?

Any other tips I should know about? The rear cables under the truck look fairly straightforward and I think I can handle this one.

Thanks.

I have a few more questions after just calling local parts stores. I only need the front cable and intermediate but I'm confused by the way this goes together.

Front cable comes out of the truck, it's vinyl coated. This front cable joins the intermediate cable with a coupling. Do I reuse the coupling or would the new cable have one? If I have to resuse I'm unsure of how to do this.

On the end of the intermediate cable there is a bracket that the cable goes through and then the two rear cables attach. I'm assuming that I have to reuse the bracket, but how do I get the intermediate cable end through the bracket?

Any help or a parts book drawing would be really helpful. Thanks.

First of all, Welcome to FTE, the greatest place to learn about your Super Duty.
When I replaced mine I removed the PCM first and it made it a lot easier to access the cable. REMOVE YOUR KEY FROM THE IGNITION FIRST. The first section will have a grommet attached to it that will press into the hole in the firewall. I reused the coupler for the second section. Get the first two sections together and disconnect one side of junction and hook the cable to the junction and then re-hook the side that you unhooked and you should be good to go.

Parking brake Module

I know this thread is dated a bit - is there any trick to removing the parking brake module?? I snapped the cable and in looking it over, it seems necessary to remove the module and before attempting, I thought I would check in on the forum. Thanks in advance for any advice.
