I havent heard of it happening before either, but I had ground my crossmember so I would have a little more than 1/8'' clearance, that morning on my way to work, a little ricefart was riding my tail and went to pass me in a no passing zone around a slight corner, and I declined him of 1st place. I went to leave work that day when it cranked over, it turned over alot slower than stock and took a little longer than stock did, I got home and took a look and sure enough it cracked the back casing. Easy fix though, I'll just take a little more off the crossmember.

Maybe I'm the only one who hasn't had the best luck with the DB high torque starter... every once in a while, I'll turn the key and i get a loud click, so the solenoid kicks, but nothing else. Just one loud click. If I wait a while, or smack it, the starter turns over. Voltages are fine, military battery terminals...My old starter still worked fine at 227,000 when i took it out...never had this problem...just my 2 cents
