it's got to be a wire or 2 right there inside that door connection

and have you checked every single fuse? one of the guys here on the forum fried a fuse just last week when he accidently grounded out 1 wire.

btw, does that door connection have anything to do with which plant the truck is built at? Pretty much every Dearborne truck has it reguardless of year or trim level...but not all the other plant trucks

Ive never tried to figure out which did have it or didnt. I believe the books just say "if equipped". Of the few I have had broken wires, none had that connector. Maybe its a super crew thing?

EXACTLY!! finally got to work on the truck today. opened the harness up, just inside the door, main ground wire and door trigger wire - severed!! This was all inside the loom and tape of the harness, i figured somebody had an alarm or something in there and tapped those wires. Thanks for everybody's help.

Sometimes they just break from the flexing during open and close of the door over time. When I repair them I usually add in a few inches of wire on each broken wire and tuck them in good so there wont be so much stretch on them. Otherwise if you just butt connect them they may pull apart or break again from flexing at the now rigid butt connector splice.
