I just bought my first Excursion today from San Diego. 2000 Black X, V-10, Banks air intake, 2wd MOONROOF!!! Loaded Luxury Liner. I want to do a 6" lift and new tires and wheels. Any suggestions on what size tire and wheel would look best? The truck is stock right now. OH, I made from San Diego to Phoenix using 3/4 tank of gas! I was impressed. I thought I'd have to fuel up in Yuma or Gila Bend. Heated seats were nice on the back.
Nice, very nice. 315/75/16 i.e 35s with the stock rims work best with a 6 inch lift as I have one. Look for the thread "Finally caved..." read and re-read that thread as there is tons of info.
Welcome to the Excursion club. Heated seats in Arizona??? Man, we get excited and roll the windows down when it gets above 20F!! Won't be long and you'll be wishin for cooled seats! Good luck on the mods!!
When I first read the title I figured we were going see something some sleazy dealership or scrupolous person had passed off as a Phoenix special edition model Excursion!
Welcome! We would love to see pictures of the sunroof from inside and out.
HaHa, you mean the limited Phoenix Edition that's only available at my dealership? Nah, I'm just a regular guy. I'll post pics of the sunroof soon. The only thing is, is that there are no overhead interior lights for the driver and passenger I also don't have the keyless access code for the door So I'm going to have to get that squared away.
I want to put in a MPG chip. Any recommendations? I don't really care about more HP. It's got more than enough for me.
Not in Phoenix, but close out on the westside in Goodyear! Congrats on the Ex, the moonroof is nice I must say! Call Super Duty Headquarters in the East Valley they can hook you up with lift kit info etc......

Does anybody recall why Ford didn't put a moonroof in the Excursions from day 1? It's not like a moonroof was some sort of newfangled technology or anything like that. Anybody willing to pay $45,000 to $50,000 for a vehicle wouldn't have minded another $950 on the sticker for a moonroof.
"pretty tough" meaning I'll be the cool guy on the block - or - the chump of the block?
I guess this post shows my age. In the old days raising a 4x2 six inces would lead to all kinds of alignment problems. I should have done a little homework to see that today 6" is no problem. But if you do the lift you would be "Cool" for sure. No chumps allowed.
congrads. on joining the EX crowd. I dont see the logic in "lifting". These things have a high enough "roll center" as it is. Especially they way they drive down in Phoenix...!
Yeah, you guys - heated seats are welcome in here Arizona. Even in the southern part of this state in winter. I happen to live in the "other" Arizona - northern Arizona, where winter mornings often go down close to ZERO. And that aint centrigrade, either !
