Clutch ?
I have a 1990 F-350 Diesel 4wd. and the clutch is burnt up in it and i need to change it. Its a 5 speed transmision. It also needs a synchronizer in 2nd gear. Is this something i should attempt to do or should i take it somewhere? I also need to extend the clutch rod. It seems a lot of trucks that are that year model have the problem with the clutch rod being to short.?.? Isnt there a piece you can buy to extend it? Thanks for your help

Add labor, and you will be looking at over $500 for a rebuild with the trans out of the truck.
As for the clutch, this is a hydraulic clutch. What clutch rod are you talking about? Beware that your truck may suffer from a cracked, rusted and flexing firewall that soaks up motion in the clutch actuation and causes clutch problems. Have someone work the clutch while you visually and by feel check for flex and look for cracks. Mostly '80s trucks with this, but as with many quality features of this sort, there is sometimes a carryover to other model years.....
