Spark Plug Blow Out
My son in law(a Chevy man) and I were driving home from work when a shot gun like sound came from under the hood just as we started climbing a hill. Since the engine was still running i continued up the hill to his house. Fearing the worst as I opened the hood I was happy to find the #6 plug hanging by its wire. The insulater was loose from the base. The other plugs were OK but the gap was .06+ and they were due. I have never had a failure like this before and the truck was running fine before. BTW the 300 pulled the hill with ease with just five. My son in law was impressed (again) by the tower of power.
Plugs are 5125 Autolite copper core. Replaced with the same as I believe the POs garage didn't properly install the plugs.
