Motorcraft original spark plugs - which side?
I have the original motorcraft AWSF 32PG and 32P plugs from my 94 Ranger 2.3L (I am the original owner). For about the last 12 years, I have been running Autolite AP764 plugs in the vehicle, with good results. For some reason, I kept the original plugs. Now I am giving the '94 away to my son-in-law and want to tune it up and get it running well.
I just checked the plugs, and the gaps were all over the place - way too big in most cases, over .051 - and up to .055 (over 100,000 kms on them, re-gapped them about 5 years ago). I did several searches on the topic of spark plugs on this forum and found some great information - such as the "waste" spark system, and the fact that the plugs fire in opposite ways - from the ground electrode up, etc. That explains why my gaps were way off - hard to believe the truck still ran with no apparent ill effects. Of course, no mention of any of this in the Haynes or Chilton's manuals.
So, my question is this - which side of the engine (driver side or passenger side) do the plugs marked AWSF 32PG go on, and which side for the 32P's? I am assuming that it is one of each type for each cylinder. Does it matter which side either goes on? There is also a dab of colour coded paint on the spark plug wire end of the plug - light green on the PGs and white on the Ps.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks, Dave.
The modern replacement Motorcraft plugs are AGSF32 FM.
My original plugs are in good shape, too, having only been used for about 10000 miles or less in the first place. I have priced out APP104 double platinum plugs - they are $10.50 each (CDN $). So for 8 plugs, plus tax, I'm looking at about $100 to replace my spark plugs.
Or, I get the new plugs from the dealer for $6.88 each plus tax, or about $65. Or, I use my original plugs and don't pay anything.
And, I did phone a couple of different Ford dealers and asked the parts counters guys where the plugs should go. One told me that someone must have changed half of the plugs out at one time with the wrong type. I told him no. The other guy had no idea, explanation, or any way to look it up or tell.
