I can't unlock the doors or liftgate with the keys; the cylinders refuse to turn. The ignition hasn't been changed so there shouldn't be a mix up with keys. Previous owner told me that he had used some lubricant on them in the past when they got sticky. I did the same and flowed WD40 in the key holes and wroked it around with the key and a phillips screwdriver. Still nothing. The passenger side door seems like it is moving a tiny bit more than the others, but not nearly enough to turn for unlocking. I don't want to put too much pressure on the key when turning
are you telling us you can get into the car??you had some other post about problems with the electric door locks, what was the result of that?? are you sure you do not have the door locks electrical constantly energized in the locked position ?? only a guess.
This problem is unrelated to the problem with the power door locks. Totally seperate. The topic here is that none of the doors or the rear hatch open using the key. So if I were to lock all doors, manually or with the power door lock switch, I would be locked out of the truck with no way back inside. That's it. The previous owner told me that the key lock cylinders stick and he had used some WD40 to free them. I did that as well but it did not work. I wanted to know if anyone here had the same issue with their doors.
may be some had a key made and is not 100% correct .I have had keys made at differant
places and certain stores always had trouble with thier keys ,maybe you should remove a
lock and bring it to a good locksmith ,have a new key made
Try removing the door panels and disconnecting the actuators for the power door locks from the latches. Then try the keys in the lock cylinders with the acuators disconnected and see if the cylinders work ok. If they do then the actuators need to be replaced. I had this problem on my 1986 Mustang GT. Darn got locked out permanently. New actuators fixed the problem for me. Dan.
