Flushing the Transmission
I read the tech folder on flushing the transmission (Torque shift) and it lists and says to hook up two 8' tubes. I have read this four times, and I cannot find out why you need these tubes. Maybe I'm just slow today? It's my thinking that these are used to drain the transmission fluid.

The procedure is incomplete. It used to be all there but not anymore. The hose is used to pump the old oil out of the torque converter. Basically, you are diverting the return oil to the measuring container so you can know how much oil to put back in. You have to start the truck to do this. I wish the procedure was still there. I can't remember enough of it to feel comfortable doing it, so I just drained and refilled the pan.
