Anyone remove their center console?
I never had one before, and always had a dog until now, but it just seems so large. I got a great deal on this truck and it came with the center console and I have given it a try and do not like it. I can always get the center seat/console to replace it but I wonder what it would be like without it. Anyone remove theirs? If I get motivated it will come out this weekend and I'll take some pics.

Its not hard at all to get the console out, all you need is one of those strange star headed sockets...I pulled mine and replaced it with the 08 center console. I know the paint is off in the pic, but I just recently got the right paint and repainted it.

However, I would have to get replacement seats for my bench seat so I'm going to have to wait on that mod for another day...

I have thought about taking out my center fold down seat/console section and going with the 08 console, but I am not sure it would allow enough room for the floor shift of a manual transmission. I have the 6 speed transmission.

i like da xmans idea, i was thinking the same thing, leaving the center empty. I think it would add a roomy look to the truck, almost like a minivan with no back seat and a lot more aggression

I found a new 2008/2009 console on eBay for $149.00 plus $23.89 shipping but it doesn't come with the front and rear brackets. The brackets are $35.69 and $46.18 respectively (not including shipping). That's a minimum total cost of $254.76.
