Too good to be an original and unrestored truck...???

OK, now I understand why everyone was picking that truck apart...what a pile-o-junk
Just kidding, that is definately a nice truck and probably well worth the money. Heck, if I had to trake my truck to get the bodywork done it would probably get close to 15K just in man hours alone.
Thanks Bob for posting the pics

Haven't you been reading the newspapers or watching the news over the past week?
FoMoCo is the only one of the BIG 3 US automakers NOT to ask for bailout money, and is in far better shape than GM or Chrysler.
The only reason GM and Chrysler have not filed for bankruptcy...yet, is because of the bailout money (our taxpayer dollars) they got from the Bush Administration last December.
If Chrysler cannot find another automaker to merge with within 30 days, the Obama Administration isn't going to give Chrysler another red cent of our taxpayer dollars, which means Chrysler will prolly go Chapter 7, not Chapter 11.
GM is very close to filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Substituting Silverado for F 100 or F 250 makes it almost impossible to look up Ford part numbers for members, because what the hell series is the truck?
I thought you were only one on the planet that did not know what the heck is going on with GM & Chrysler.
btw: If knew who the bonehead was at Internet Brands (FTE's owner) that thought this up...what I would tell him/her would not be found on most greeting cards.

ABTW, you could probably walk up to who ever it is that thought this up, slap him or her up side the head, and they would probably walk off not having known they were touched!

Jules,
Yes, yes, I know. I fully understand that the semantics of the original ad were being argued. From what I read its been addressed and the gal is rewriting it to correct it.
These threads come up periodically, where someone has posted an ad and we all gather around like vultures and pick it apart. I personally enjoy these threads and always learn something new about these old trucks from them. Its amazing the wealth of info that gets put forth when we start picking one of these trucks/ads apart.

There is a line between criticism and insult. When the thread went from criticizing the inaccuracies constructively, to insulting the owner and author, all parties involved started looking like real ego fueled know it all jack @$$es. A right to an opinion is only guaranteed by statute and law if that opinion doesn't publicly harm the reputation of another. The line was crossed early on, which is why I contacted the seller. Yes, these threads provide opportunity for knowledge building, they also provide us the opportunity to measure our characters. It's one thing to point out a flaw, or an inaccuracy in an ad, it's a completely different matter to throw words like "liar" and "BS" around, intentionally directed to damage the standing of another person. The "know it all syndrome" go the the better of some, and turned this thread into an insult fest. Knowledge is power, and power must be kept in check, or it may become self consuming, and very destructive. Have you ever seen a fire from the inside? Actually looked at the raw power from only a few feet away as it consumes 1000's of acres at a time. The more it eats, the more powerful it becomes, until it is all but unstoppable, and eventual kills itself by eating too much. Knowledge is the same way. You can learn and learn, and learn some more, but if you do not share that power, you can end up looking like a know it all self involved egotistical jerk, and soon, no one will be around for you to even try and share that knowledge with, because you've driven them all away.

Still my point hasnt been answered. How can you prove a plate that is claimed to be orignal to the car is not orignal. I mean for example I know that plate is of the wrong year but what if they had the right year plate how can you disprove it then. I mean after all the DMV here doesnt keep records on a vehicle after 10 years. I was going to get some 1956 Texas plates that says " 56 " up in the upper right corner. If I were to say those were the orignal plates that the car had from the dealership how could you prove or disprove it is what I am asking. I mean after all plates in the 50`s and 60`s and early 70`s were a one time use plate. Used them one year and then throw them out and put the new year plate on.
I do have photos of the car when new with the orignal plates on it but it wouldnt be legal for me to have duplicates made and try to get them issued to the car even if the plate number isnt issued yet.
But besides all that I think the truck looks nice. So what if they didnt do the research on the truck, not everyone is as hardcore into restoration as some here are that knows the difference. I have had a guy ask me why I put a ford engine in my Mercury and this guy owned a mustang.
