Flexing a 1 ton
That is some crazy frame flex. It appears that the rear axle only moves a few inches bu the bed and frame do most of the movement. Almost looks like the bed could break the rear window.
Is that common for that era of truck?

Absolutely not. I am in a happy relationship with my girlfriend. I am more than slightly jealous of his trucks though.
My F-350 is the same way. :| Have yet to break the rear window yet though. Haha.

i was just giving you *****. i like his trucks too.
Now just keep it a dual purpose rig..
I wish i had mine again when it had a bed and stiffer front springs! Once i truggied it i couldnt do anything but trailer it to trails...couldnt haul jack with it etc..
Thats one thing i always liked about the highboy's rear suspension...the narrower frame inboards the leaf springs more to give the axle some leverage on twisting those leafs.
I miss it when it was the stage below...

KO, whaaaaz up man. You have been a stranger. I miss that orange truck of yours.
Yes the narrow frame has some advantages, and the 64" leafs dont hurt either.
I dig the dual purpose rig thing. I trailer many rigs home with this truck, and pull the toy hauler once in a while. Should see the looks I get when I pull the toy hauler with this truck. Then I disconnect and run some of the local trails. Guys are amaxed that my tow rig is as capable as it is. Pull a trailer to camp, run the trails, make a beer run, run some more trails, and drive it home. The only trailer this truck sees, is the one it pulls, lol.
Gotta love that.
I was noticing the typical ford dent on the back of your cab where the bed hits. I added some support to prevent this. I hated ripping off the chrome strip, and bashing the cab there.

That's great!!! That's what makes your truck still a "truck", not a buggy, truggy toy, etc.

Later on when i truggied it i fixed the frame flex problem.

Yall should see it now...the guy had broke the 1410 rear shaft twice...broke the 1350 cv front once..sheared the front tierod from hitting a tree doing 20 mph on a hill...and nearly ripped the cab off the frame
..

It's kinda common. One of my fellow local offroaders flexes almost to the top of the window. My ranger does quite a bit and my 1995 F-150 bed gets about the same flex. Often the cab mounts and bed mounts rust out and allow a lot more articulation.
Steve, just make sure you get my good side.
Kubota, you deserve a pat on the back. I could never handle no doors haha. My F-350 had a missing door for a day and I hated it. The heater doesn't do much when all of its blowing out the side of the cab.
