I loved not having doors on mine, in the summer it was ALOT cooler in the cab.

only bad thing is i think they would provide some protection in a rollover.

Yeah well, its not ever that hot in Washington. Right now its 70 degrees.. and thats the peak for this year so far. Up until a few days ago its been like 60's degrees peak. And in the winter is well below freezing.

There's not a chance in hell that I would take my truck in the snow with no doors. :P

And I don't really like to get all muddy haha. I mean, if I get stuck i'll jump in the mud to get out.. but if I don't need to fill my cab with mud, I usually don't. Haha.

hey 70 degrees. thats nice out. here it is about 35. it gets up over 100 in the summer, but in the winter i would put the doors back on.... i don't think it got all that muddy in there, no worse than just having the windows open..

Yeah, today was the first in a really long time that I worked on my truck without a coat on. Usually i'm wearing two.

My shop isn't insulated haha.

i have a heated shop, but its spendy to heat. so i just start up the heater when i have to work on some thing, in the winter i'll work in there at about 40-50.. just warm enough so my finger don't get cold. lol

Thats one thing i always liked about the highboy's rear suspension...the narrower frame inboards the leaf springs more to give the axle some leverage on twisting those leafs.

I miss it when it was the stage below...
c'mon man... lets put one tons under whitepower and ride out!

i can tell you have been itching lately!

man, no doors is where it's at!

I built these last summer but never got a chance to use them because I didn't have my truck finished. I built them with a bracket to the hinges and made them with sqaure bar bent up at 90 deg. with the door sliding on with sqaure tube receiver so they come off in a sec for no doors at all. the panels are all stainless and the handle locks it in to the striker bolt so they won't go anywhere. I thought it was kinda cool I'm looking forward to puttin them on.

No doors is getting a little too far away from "dual purpose" rig for me. While I dig it, and love the pics, my rides have to have complete interiors. My orange truck has the bare essentials, and it was just the other day that I put glass back in the doors, and installed all of the interior door hardware. I even cleaned up some nice door panelsn and retired the sheetmetal panels that used to be in there.
Red truck has a heater now, soon to have A/C, does have a nice stereo, CD player, GPS, functional cruise control, and all of the wring for power windows and door locks. Gotta fab up some brackets for this to be complete. Heak this rig even has varible intermitant wipers, and a windshield washer that works. Everything functions on the truck, and I even have a brake controller for when I pull the big trailer.
Dont get me wrong, I love the purpose built rigs, but there is something about a capable rig that has license plates, and can get reasonable gas mileage too.
Eventually I will have it painted with some real paint and not rustoleum.
I want it to look decent, and still be able to hold its own when it comes time for business. Off to a fair start so far.

.
I totally dig the mentality. My truck is a bit more austere than that, though. Still, it is nice to not get harrassed by the law, and still run most of the roads and trails I want to. This is where rustoleum rules You get nice paint, and it will be more painful to scratch it.

What kind of mileage do you get with that truck?
