I posted about a week ago about some front end problems, anyways i have 2002 4x4 the front end is making a weird sound it only goes in spurts of 1 or 2 seconds then goes away then comes back, I dont even know how to describe it. I replaced the hub assembly thinking that was it, while I was in there I replaced rotors and shoes they needed it. Drove the truck with no front brakes around the neighborhood to see if it was the brakes and it made the same sound. So it doesnt seem to be a brake issue. The front end is tight cant find any movement. This is frustrating the crap out of me. I dont want to dump any more money without some help. Any thing I am missing? What does it sound like when the sway bar bushings go? ANy help is appreciated.
Thanks
Justin
I put everything back together the right way... I guess the sound is kinda like a brake shoe cackling off the rotor, but like I said I drove it without the caliber on and it made the same noise....
My front end was a mess, i couldnt do ball joints (4x4 hubs bearings! disaster) so i brought it to a shop and they quoted me $1500 for a rebuild (ball joints, control arms, all bushings, shocks, etc) and a drive shaft rebuild (all u joints and something with the TC ... also re balance) and an alignment. Truck drives frickin great now, like new! still expensive but it needed to be done.
