so i get in my truck the other day to fire it up. start cranking and it wouldnt start but,, while i was cranking it over it would start chugging like it wanted to start but as soon as i released the key it wouldnt fire. the next day i tryed again and it was fine it fired up like new.
but the past few days its been acting up again! same thing happens. it crank it and it sounds like its trying to run on 2 cyls and as soon as i stop cranking it stops wont even try to stay running. and every once and a while if i crank it long enough it will finnaly fire up.
i have lots of white smoke,

Sounds like a CPS even if you have a tach signal. If you have an extra one give it a try.
Check the tin nut on the back of the HPOP, the one that holds the IPR in place. Don't over tighten it....might strip the threads.

it was 60 degrees all the way down to 10. i know the truck would have started on that 60 degree day even if the glowplugs were not working.
and i know for sure **** it wouldnt have started when it was 10 if they were not working properly.
