Troubleshooting my blower motor...

While troubleshooting my blower motor, i came across something weird. If i get power to my blower switch plug, ALL THE WIRES ARE HOT, all four wires are hot at the same time. After studying the wiring diagram, i think my blower resistor is totally shot.

Comments? Wisdom?

Does the blower work with 12v. going to it? You can pull the blower resistor out and visually check it. Check the little resistor coils for any breaks. Sound like the coils on yours might be touching each other.

Found the black/yellow wire hot AND CUT!!! under the hood later on. Anyone got an idea where i might find the other end of the wire going to the blower motor? The wire is cut just above the factory a/c box under the hood.

Mike, as for your idea with the resistor, i havent pulled it yet, but that is my thinking at this point, that the resistor is fried/shorted.

Thanks Mike, i never would have found that. My eyes are just not that good anymore.

As for the question about the blower motor, no i havent hot wired it yet because i cant find the wire going to it. It has been cut and i dont have a clue as to why or where the other end went.

Does the resistor screw into the duct, or does it just pop out? I've gone thru my dash like Patton went thru Europe and I can't make sense of it......but then again, I don't have the greatest concept of anything electrical. The orange wire to the speed switch is hot. Then, I tested the actual connector(female) that runs from it and got nothing? I only thought there was one wire(orange) but there is another one just below the speed switch on a three prong female connector. What's that too?
