Question Reliable mudder?

I bought an 88 4x4 custom with an inline6 and about 60000 miles on her i want to turn her into a reliable trail/mudder but still drive the city every now and then. I just put in new universal joints and slapped on a set of 33" super swampers, i was wondering if anyone had tips to toughen her up a little!

stick with the motor you have. its an awesome wheeler motor and DD motor as well. I would question the miles since that odom doesnt display 6 dig figures only 5.

Gears should be your first step since your running those larger, heavier swampers
Is your I6 Efi or carb?

with 35" swampers i would think at least 4.56 gears since you have a 5speed tranny.

I would also stick with the 4.9, as it has more down low power and it will never let you down....
