Sorry if this topic has been beaten to death but has anyone been able to get increases in torque/ hp from their 5.4l gas? I have a 2007 f250 and haven't been able to find many aftermarket items to help me along. Where are some good placs to look? I've tried Summit and a few others but no luck. Any ideas? thanks
I have a 08 5.4 L and there arent really that many options. Always the CAI, but the only one that I found in the air raid quick fit series. There are also chips and exhausts you can do and that will give you alittle more power
I have a 2005 F350 4X4 with the 5.4L engine. I installed the K&N CAI kit, which is the only full kit on the market for our trucks (see pics). I also installed a SCT Livewire with custom tunes from 5 Star Tuning. The combination made a significant difference in performance. Next project is a full exhaust system but I'm working with Doug Thorley Headers and Doug's Headers to make a long-tube header for our application.
The best money spent would be to change your ring and pinion gears. That will increase your rear wheel torque.
I agree and disagree with that recommendation... if the OP has 3.73 gears like yourself, then he would experience significant gains from installing say 4.30 gears with the EOM tires. However, if he already has the 4.10 gears from the factory, then that would be an expensive upgrade ($1,500 - $2,000) for only one up-sizing of gears. He could install 4.56 gears but that may be too much with the EOM tires. Just my opinion...

Even 4.10 to 4.30 is a good jump, when viewed in terms of rear wheel torque.
