Adding Intermittant Wipers
#16
this was the closest thread related to my problem , I have a 96 f350 , recently had a harness fire , replaced the harness now I only have high setting on wipers , no delay , no washer . I have changed he column switch no good , I have checked the grounds right side of dash all good , if I stab the plug going to the wiper and washer with a god ground all functions work , is there a relay somewhere near the column that I may have missed ? I have also changed the module , and no change , somewhere in the wiring or a missed relay .

90 F350 7.3 turbo diesel wiper delay operation?
Recently converted my F350 to the delayed wiper system. All Ford components but used? It was a very easy conversion and anyone could do it. I have a question as to how the delay actually works? Mine works fine in the fast and normal position, but in the delay mode how variable should the system work?
I also have an 06 Ranger and it is totally variable. With the conversion which I just accomplished the delay is some what! it appears to delay but no variable plus the delay takes too long, pretty much the same all the way either way I turn the ****. I did pull the circuit from the interval wiper governor looking for cold or separated solder contacts but see nothing wrong. I can see and here the tiny relay working as it does work in the delay mode. Have checked and moved the switch ground with no change. Everything else works just fine just no notice in the variable of delay time. I think? the actual wiper switch has a rheostat "the box on the side of the switch?" Thinking that the switch has a defective rheostat? I plan to purchase a new switch, going to try NAPA auto parts.
Any other ideas from the group?
