possible AC problems

'06 screwfx4 5.4L..Manual AC controls. My ac will be blowing cold and then it seems to blow not so cold and the air comming out smells humid(does that make sence?) It only last for 10 sec or so but it seems to happen allot...I don't think this is all in my head . The compressor makes a cavitation sound sometimes when it engages is this normal?.the only real pisser of the deal is the truck only has 27k on it but the 3 yr warr. ran out last month

.. I'm a real DIY kinda guy but i dont have any equipment to check ac stuff. Any input on this? Thanks

I think your truck has a cabin air filter. If it does then check it and change it if it's dirty first. Also since you don't have any gauges then just look at the receiver dryer and see if it's sweating. If it is then your charge is probably ok.

It's probably just the air filter with the symptoms you describe or possibly a bad fan clutch. These newer trucks ac systems don't work worth a darn when the fan clutch is not right.
