i put a 3 inch in my truck the seam on the bottom of the firewall hits the drivers side exhaust manafold. i just cut out the peice the was hitting with a sawsall and patched it from the inside by pulling the flooring back and welding in a peice. i also moved the ebrake bracket on the frame forward to gain a lil slack

hey with a 3'' body lift did you have to worry about the steering shaft length at all thats what im most worried about and does your truck have any other lift in it ? it looks way taller then mine
ahh ok i cant find any info on a body lift for a diesel tho it all says not for diesel where did you get yours and how much was it if you dont mind me asking
ahh ok i cant find any info on a body lift for a diesel tho it all says not for diesel where did you get yours and how much was it if you dont mind me asking
there are two reasons they say not for diesel...
#one is that the engine or more specifically the cylinder head/exhaust manifold (cant remember which) hits the fire wall... the repair symonds86 did is probably the best way to do it... or some people adjust the firewall with a BFH and a prybar. I personally live with the rattle as it only rattles or hits when I go in reverse and it's not too bad... but I went only 2'' of lift.
#two is the fact that there are some mods to be done to the fan shroud and from what I've read if it's not done right you can have overheating issues. It's more of a problem if you live in a very warm climate and/or you tow heavy loads ect...
i just got mine off ebay, i have never had a fan shroud since i bought the truck, so i donno how to modifiy that. mine said it wasn't for a diesel either
