On ebay under ford ranger lift kits. They have a 3" lift that has rear add a leafs and front torsion keys for 239.00$. It's a lot cheaper than the 1,500.00$ starting price for a regular suspension lift for the the t-bar suspension trucks.
A bit embarrassed to ask and I've been wanting to know for a long time.....but am I lifted? When I look behind the rear wheels, installed between the axle and the leaf spring is a metal block. It is not solid but an open rectangular block that spaces the leaf spring about 3" above the axle. I am the second owner and the truck was not advertised as lifted. I am curious if these blocks were standard on the off road package to allow the bigger wheels.

Those blocks are the normal "lift" that all 4x4 Rangers have in the rear. You'll notice that all the 4WD models look a bit higher than the 2WD models and this is one of the reasons why.
Very nice! I'd like to lift mine a bit and put some chunkier rubbers on him in the future. Did your gas mileage change any?
My mileage dropped zero with the big tires, but oddly, dropped about .5 mpg with the lift. I'm going to attribute that to the new double-carden U-joint front driveshaft that the lift required. It must have a bit more "rolling" (rotating?) resistance.
By just cranking the t-bars leveing the truck will allow you to run up to a 33" tire, I wouldn't want to run anything bigger than that. Anything bigger and you will starting needing to swap gears and what have you. The advantage a full suspension lift will have over a t-bar crank oof course would be better articulation off/road for the serious and extreme wheeler. The t-bar crank does well on the trails and it helps to have a good off/road shock. The level II's had bilstiens and I ordered my 09 with rancho's. I don't do any boulder bashing, so my setup works realy well for trail riding, mud and hill climbing. Large rocks would make her grunt as I don't have the articulation that a real lift kit would provide, but for the price of a lift kit, I'll live with it.

So you're saying, I can get a lil more height without a body lift?
