So for the 4th time, i'm dropping my tank after no-starts/no power situations to find contamination in the fuel system. There was dirt/even a mosquito, and all kinds of crap in there. I noticed there are 2 things with L-Shaped nipples on them on the top of the tank that don't connect to anything, are they some sort of check valve to let the tank breathe? If so, could this be failing open and allowing dirt into my tank? Can they be removed and cleaned or replaced(i have the Plastic tank btw, 03 F350 PSD).
Also, does anyone have a break down of how i should go about flushing out the lines etc to make sure i can avoid this in teh future..I've literally had this happen 4 times in under 60k miles.
