I just purchased a 'previously owned' 2006 Ford Ranger. The PATS light on the dash blinks constantly when I lock and leave the vehicle. Is this normal? Will it run the battery charge down?

 

its just the light that blinks THEFT right if it is yes its normal my taurus did it all the time and it never drained the battery

 

My 2000 Ranger has the same thing. Never wore down the battery.

..............My '08 only blinks when I've pushed the "locked" button on my alarm system "thingy" attached to my truck key . I always push the unlock button , before unlocking the door or the horn will start honking like it's having am orgasm ,lol . rb
