Towing

I have a 92' Ranger, 3.0 V-6, w/manual 5-speed. I want to pull a boat and trailer that weighs about 3100lbs. The trailer has brakes. Does anyone the know maximum tow weight for my truck? I want to take the boat on a trip 400 miles one way. Do you think I can do without harming the truck? The truck does have the power to pull the boat out of the ramp and I'm able to cruise between 60-65mph on the flat roads of Florida.

Can someone please help me with my question about towing? Believe it or not, the people at the dealers in my area say they don't have the information for 92' ranger.

Like everybody else I don't have the printed data on a 92 Ranger. I don't remember any Ranger with the manual tranny rated for over 2500lbs. The tranny and clutch are the weak link. It may work without too much damage if you have the 4:10 gears in the back otherwise, look forward to replacing some parts.

I have info on a 96 Ranger, 2,300lbs with a manual.

I was told that the earlier model truck (Ranger)was able to tow more weight (4100lbs) unless they where talking about the automatic. However I'm unable to confirm this.
