Help- we just got a 2004 350 superduty turbo 6.0 and only occasionally will it seem to idle rough and put out some blue/black smoke when starting-sometimes it smokes a little while idleing too. Took it to the dealer and it wont throw any codes , they drove it 60 miles and couldn't get it to act up for them. It's got everyone perplexed around here. Its our first diesel so we are a bit worried about it...................and its driving us nuts............. Thanks for any help lsmith@hillsdale-isd.org
well we just got the truck and had the dealer change the oil before we signed any paper work. The dealer were we bought it didnt have the right software for the truck so they sent it to the local Ford dealer-- they couldnt pull any codes up on it either--- however the ford dealer did suggest pulling off the egr valve to see if it had any soot collected on it--- I did find an artical on here about cleaning it. Thanks for your help-- I guess it will be a process of elimination first...... We know who owned the truck prevciously and know that he took great care of it-- it only has 47,000 miles on it..............
