Rear Axle Nut torque?

Rear Axle Nut torque?
Not really for just diesels but you all help me out every other time. I was just wondering if anyone knew the Torque specs for a rear axle nut. I think I over tightened mine and now by rear end is binding up. I hope thats all it is. Any info would be great.

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that it was 18ft lbs not positive on that though.
I don't think that would cause it to bind up though. If you have a limited slip you might not have enough of the additive stuff in the differential.

I assume you are refering to the hub/spindle lock nut. If so it is supposed to be torqued to 60 lb-ft (81 Nm) while rotating the hub occasionally. From there you need to ratchet back 5 teeth/notches (1/8) turn on the hub nut for new bearings or 7 teeth/notches (1/6) turn on the hub nut for used bearings....
