on a new f150, where have you all mounted your controllers? the way the area under the steering wheel is angled makes no ideal location.

mounting brake controller

I too am looking for a good spot to mount the controller. I just picked up my 2002 F150 last Wednesday and I am installing my fifth wheel hitch and controller this week. Has anyone tried mounting it in the small storage bin on the lower right side of the steering column? It just doesn't seem like there are an other logical places to mount them.

Check this [link:www.ford-trucks.com/dcforum/DCForumID1/258.html|thread]. A member describes how he mounted a Prodigy controller in the cubby hole of his F350. There was a photo, but it doesn't show up now.

FWIW, the Tekonsha Prodigy and Sentinel can be mounted from 0-90 degrees. A friend of mine has his controller mounted on the curved underdash of his '97 F150.

Whatever brand controller you are installing, the instructions should tell how much angle is acceptable.

I installed a Prodigy in my F250 and it works great. There is a photo of the install in my gallery for Big Red.

Same deal as Edmo's, little different angle. Be careful if you have a 6 speed. My shifter comes an inch from my controller.

I mounted my Tekonsha Prodigy in the cubby hole on my 98 F-150 and it works great. The Prodigy does not have to be level and being in the cubby I never bang my knee on it. You will probably have to use the permanent bracket rather than the removable one but it fit just fine.

Well....I took everyone's advice and bought the Prodigy controller...just still not sure where to mount this controller on my F-140 SuperCrew.

I see post's regarding mounting it in the cubbyhole on the F-250...not sure, but I believe the F-150 dash is different. My Prodigy won't even begin to fit into the cubbyhole on my F-150.

Where are most of you guys mounting your Prodigy controller on your F-150's?

Thanks,
Mark

I know this is an old post and probably just a typo, but to set the record straight, my Prodigy instruction sheet only allowed for 0-70 degree mounting. They also warn about mounting it at anything close to 70 degrees because steep grades could be enough to cause problems.
