where to mount Prodigy controller

I was looking at the Ex yesterday and trying to decide where to mount the Prodigy. It needs to be fairly level for the momentum function to work. Where have other installed theirs?

I mounted mine in the area below the cubby hole pocket in the dash. It's on an angle, but it works ok.

I was looking there, but that seams like an extreme angle for a Prodigy? I thought about trying to put together a angle mount fot it that woudl level it a little.

Nope, it works fine there. It's within the specs of the Prodigy.

I have mine mounted there in the Excursion and it's been working flawlessly for many years. You'll find a lot of guys have theirs mounted there.

I have heard others put it in the cubby hole. You'll need to drill a hole in the back for the plug.

It's a pretty good fit in the cubby-hole. See pic in my garage:

It is in the little plastic sleeve that comes with the controller....and set off to the side....

Will you post a pic of yours? I am curious how far you went? I was thinking of ending up with it basically right under the cubby.

Don,

Your cubby hole looks much wider than mine. I have a filler piece on the left side where the pedal adjust switch is if I have that option.

Yup. Mine is centered directly underneath.

I'll try and snap a pic for you later.

For my F250, I put it in the cubby because I was also installing a monitor on the trans hump and the controller would have partially blocked my site line.

Here's my F250.

You can see why I put it in the cubby, and not below it.

I'll get a pic of my Ex later tonight after I get home.

I have my ScanGaugeII in the cubby.

It can be mounted at any angle vertically in the direction of travel. Its more important that its parallel to the direction of travel +/- 20 deg and that the front of it should be horizontal +/- 20 deg. See:

http://www.tekonsha.com/content/down...ion/N90885.pdf

Here's mine and have had no problems what so ever.

Edit.... nice switches william_04_x!!
