OK, changed out the oil 3 weeks ago (600 miles). Delo400 whick I have always run. 150,000 miles now.
Noticed a odd looking drip on the driveway yesterday. Backed the truck up and it almost looked like grease, but it was oil. It was thick and gooey. I had just arrived home and the EOT was about 190*.
Went to the store and bought Rotella T synthetic.
Drained the oil and replaced the filter. Engine is notibly quieter
I have never seen this before and is baffling.
I hop I have not messed up the injectors or something.
Yes, it is different weight, but I was not comparing the two. The 5w-40 is just what I replaced with. The stuff I found on the ground was the consistency of 50-60w.
Yes I am sure it ran down the block, but when I stuck my finger in it it was just THICK oil.
