Edge attitude?

Edge attitude?

Hi all, i have an edge evolution programmer for my 2000 F250 7.3 and would like to know if i can use an edge attitude with it to read temps, boost egt's etc or go with conventional gauges.

when i looked up the attitude it always shows it with the edge juice, no mention if it works with the evolution.

i appreciate your input

Your evolution has the ability to show ---EGT, Trans Temp, Engine oil Temp, Boost, RPM, etc. Attitude gives you shift on the fly ability, if I'm not mistaken.
I have an Evolution in my "01, but due to the nonstop googoogery ( that's a technical term), from everyone else, I will have to check out DP tunes. After all these other guys know more than I do and I am sure that many have tried other tunes and landed with DP for a reason.

Curious for egt's you don't have to drill a probe in to get a reading? what are safe levels for boost, egt's etc. i have no idea what levels things should be at and not to pass.

They are/can be used together. I am one of several on this site who have owned this set up and turned and sold. I went with a Dp-Tuner. The Edge stuff just ate up my transmission-2 of them. I drilled into the manifold for my probe, 1300* for a short period of time. With Jody-Dp-Tuner sitting right next to me, I hit 1500* Boost, the map sensor will defuel the truck at 25psi.

Boost should be anywhere between 25-30psi on a otherwise stock truck, Aluminum in pure form melts at 1228* however you won't have to worry about your pistons until you reach a sustained 1500* or so, keep it 1300 or lower when towing on long grades.

Presa C--- The Evolution Programmer (P/N 15001) comes with a EGT probe for the exhaust manifold. Did you install it?

i don't recall getting one Throwdown, i bought it a few years back from a "tuning store" but don't recall getting one or if i just didn't know what it was. i have to look if i still have the box. maybe the place installed it for me and i don't even know. its been a year and a half since and my memory is shot.

can i order just a probe for the evolution?

is the DP tuner better than edge? what r your views on the products.

If you don't want to completely replace your Evo, send it to Bill at Power Hungry and have it converted/upgraded to a Gryphon. Tranny problems solved! I think he is a site sponsor too. Good guy and he used to work for EDGE so he can give u lots of advice about the Evo..

Which one? First two were both TC's and one burned set of clutches. The Edge products didn't help at all. Now my third and final trans, not one issue.

throwdown, mine is the edge evolution programmer p/n 15000 not the new one. thats why i didn't get a probe with it.

I don't ant to spend big bucks on a new unit so i guess my best bet is a set of gauges mounted on the pillar to read boost, egt and i guess a pyro meter? what does a pyrometer do?

or should i save my pennies and get a new system completely?

If you order an EGT guauge, it will come with the pyrometer. The pyro is the probe that measures the temp. in your exhaust manifold. You will need to drill and tap per the size of pyro nut.
