cheap 460 power?

cheap 460 power?

i have a 78 f150 factory 460 c6 it has edelbrock performer 460 intake and a 650 holley other than that its stock what can i do cheaply to bring out the beast in it i dont wanna pull the engine it runs pretty good just wanna get the most i can get on the cheap

Change the timing chain and gears to a pre-1972 set, which will remove the emissions retard from the cam timing in the engine.

how much gain you think ill get out of that? also i have hesitation if i punch it from dead stop...carb?

i put a set of hedman headers on mine with the pre 72 timing set and a 750 vac sec holley. also do a nice exhaust to match. my truck ran very strong with just those few things. a good rv cam would wake it up also. the hesitation is usually caused by a faulty or misadjusted acclerator pump on the carb but could be several things.

it runs like a beast now when i get past that lil stumble but i know it has more

also when i do the timing set swap is there anything special i need to do about resetting the timing?

Just go into the auto parts store and tell them you have a 1969 460 you want a timing chain for.
