Replacement bumper advice....
Ok ppl, I have to get a replacement front bumper for my 94 XLT. Any advice? I think I am gonna hit the junkyards to look but I wanna know beforehand any info about mounting brackets, bolts etc. Any thoughts will be helpful. Oh, and I'm cheap so I don't wanna order one of those $200-$300 ones online.
Where I live, I have not personally seen a decent front bumper for a Ranger at a junkyard. I'm sure the mounting is the same for all '93-'97 Rangers. I recommend you take really good measurements and a sketch to the junkyard. You might find painted bumpers as well as chrome. Good luck.
If the junkyard of your choice doesn't have a Hollander Interchange (all good yards do) go here and look for the type of bumper you want: Search for 1994 Ford Truck Ranger | Used Auto Parts | HollanderParts
According to that web site, the years that pop up in your search will interchange, If those yards are too far from you, you'll know what years to look for. You'll find the front bumper under "Front Body". If you put in a zip code, you'll be able to sort by yard closest to you.
Good bumpers go fast. But, you'll be guaranteed to find plenty of good bumpers after you've already bought one. That's what happened to me. I hope you have better luck and more patience than I did. Patience helps, and so does persistence.
Also, if you go to http://row52.com/Search and sign up, you can set up a search/notification that will email you anytime the make/model of interest hits a yard of your choosing (assuming the yard participates).
