jack, that's transfer I got from bulltet had tranny fluid in it. isn't it supposed to have 80 90 wt? please set me straight, as mine had the other.by the way, id like to know how in the hell you get it onto the jack under the vehicle, as it only weighs about 200 lbs.....thanks
Some of the newer transfers use tranny fluid. Also, to lift it check here in the tranny forum and someone has built a cradle to hold the transfer on a floor jack. Or you may have to rent a trans jack.
Second thought, a young strong bull like you should just be able to heft it up in there. LOL
can you get the transfer case on the jack at all? If so could you raise the truck up high enough to get the transfer case on the jack to the center of the truck, then lower the truck back down?
I got the transfer installed. I went and bought a floor jack and lifted it on outside the truck. I couldn't believe how nice it sat on the jack with the aid of a board
tomorrow I hope to finish up and test to see if it drives.
the truck is a 76 and its a steel transfer, and I have always been told u needed 80 90. ill fill it with atf if someone tells me that is what it needs
I use gear lube in the transfer in my 78 Bronco. I think my Super Duty uses ATF fluid. If it is a 78 Ford, and the transfer is from that era, then you need gear lube.
I am headed back out now to patch it up. I have to get on the road asap. its a combination of my transfer, garrets trans. I will just fill it with gear oil
I talked with Clint and he said he didn't know. He said that the 205 that Garrett has now does take the 80w90. But the t-case on the tranny you picked up is a 203. Might search on line.
