I am talking about the switch that you turn when you want to change which vents the air comes out of. I can't remember the name for it right now.
Anyway, some times it does not change positions. Like today I left to pick up my brother and it was non functional(only position it would work in was to completely turn it off). But after about 4 mins of turning the dial to all the positions it started to work. It has done this one other time also, about 3 weeks ago or so.
The only thing that both times have in common is I have left the dial in the foot only position the night before.
I would like to take it to the dealer before my warranty is up (Aug.) but if it's not doing it i'll get the "get duplicate the problem" bs.
I have also noticed that when it is working right and you change the dial you can hear the door turning and it makes like a sticky rubber on rubber sound....like it is having a hard time turning.....
That door is dragging and binding up. Take it in because the dash has to come out to fix it. Mine does it too sometimes but it is out of warranty.
Good luck

My 05 did the same thing from help here on FTE I was able to fix the problem. the vent selection doors are sticking I pulled the control motor & cycled the doors by hand several times until I was convinced they warn't sticking anymore. the control motor is right above the gas pedal pretty easy to get to just make sure you line up the little marks on the hub before you reinstall the motor I pluged the motor in then operated the selector switch to get it lined up. hope this helps. by the way there is 2 doors operated by the motor.
