Engine Model Clarification

I have seen post that seem to qualify engines as PSD or International ...

Are the the same, and is there any differant models. The engine in mine is International / Navistar A225 7.3 DIT VNVT7.3C

Please tell me about this engine so that I will have some knowledge as to which post I should look at if I have questions...

The Ford Powerstroke (Direct injection) Diesel engine is made by International Harvester (IH). The IH desination for this engine is T444E. The base engine is the same, the computer/hardware system that run each engine is different (Ford has it's own PCM and programing) Ford also uses different fuel system, water pump, and some other accessories than IH.

Thanks .... have seen post that indicated an engine was an International and not a PSD, likely read it wrong.

The PSD is just what ford calls it

Navistar calls theirs a T444E T=Turbocharged 444=displacement E=electronic injection

in a nut shell, they are the same
