Bumper Tow Question
Normaly, I wouldnt bother towing with a bolt-on bumper hitch, but I'm in a bit a tight spot. Will a bumper hitch pull an old Lincoln on a dolly? The brackets have been reinforced and 10.9 grade hardware throughout. I think I would be okay considering most of the weight will still be on the ground, but the size of the Lincoln has me a bit worried. So I thought I'd ask for opinions.

Bumper Tow Question
Most bumpers have a max tongue weight and max trailer weight stamped on them somewhere near the ball mount hole. I think most of the full size trucks run about 500 and 5000 lbs on a bumper pull. Hope this helps.

You can stretch those ratings quite a bit if you understand what they're based on. As long as you don't stomp the brakes or try to do 70mph, you shouldn't have any problems. I'd put some ballast in the bed just to make sure the back tires get full traction, though.

Thanks guys! Thats what I needed to know. I really need to be able to get this car. The guy is giving it away, and it has a complete "DOVE" 460....for FREE!
