Hammer drill?

Has anyone heard of using a air impact in place of a hammer drill? I know not to use a regular drill, but a buddy of mine suggested using my impact. I'd never heard of it, so i thought I'd ask you guys.

Hammer drill?

i doubt that it would work the same, hammer drills hammer in and out, and turn at a slow speed... inpacts do thier "hitting" in a radial sence, nothing to drive the bit inwards.. i assume your trying to drill concrete

Yeah, I didnt think it would work the same. Guess I'll just have to borrow onwe somewhere to drill my anchors.

alot of rental places carry hammer drills, that's where we get ours from when we need to anchor something in concrete..
