I'm going to get as much of a lift out of it as I can cheaply. I have absolutely no problems with trimming my fenders, I figured I would have to for the 37's. As for the back, i'm putting a flatbed on it so i'll customize it well enough for the 42's on the back.
Iggybob is exactly right. Except the area I go snow wheelin' usually has alot of people around late december, probably 20-30 trucks minimum towards the end of the month.
And i'm almost always wheeling with a buddy, so if I start slipping towards those edges I anchor myself and make sure I get pulled up straight.
I can see what your saying, too tall, problems rolling ect. But those 42's are going to make the truck a little bit wider too. Its a pretty big truck as it is. Its not going to be ridiculously high or anything, just enough to fit the 42's comfortably.
