hi. i have a 71 f100 ttruck that has a bed that is rusted and has a few holes . some are kind of large. my question is, should i use bondo or if i use metal, what kind should i use?
Always use metal with holes!and try to cut out all areas with cancer, and weld in new metal with a Mig,also for the guy who has no Mig,a good body shop can hook you up with some kick@ss sheetmetal glue!!
It is strong. Also try to use only filler on panels where you couldn't get straight.
A good filler is Evercoat light weight filler.
And gotta have some 3m blue glazing putty.
I too am against using bondo on any part of your truck. How much rust do you have and where is it located? Where are you located, there is a guy about 50 miles from me that advertises rust free pickup boxes? I have never been there to see what he has, but I could get you the number.
