i think the soapy-ness of it kills them, something to do with the reduced surface tension and the bees breathing or something like that i recall. I know that spraying a bee with water makes it made, spraying it with soapy water kills it, i could be wrong but yeah i think it has to do with the reduced surface tension of the soapy liquid that suffocates the bees.
