engine rpm power range

i was driving my truck around today playing with it its a 2000 f350 and i noticed that about 2400 rpms is the loudest and seems to have the most power there when i run it up to 3000 rpms it does not seem to make anymore power. to me is seems like its not getting enough air but i have done the 6637 mod. anyone have any ideas. it does not see over 2500rpms very often so its not a real big deal but i dont think it should be like this.

With a chip, yes power is going to drop off at the upper RPM range. The reason is that the oil pressure from the HPOP starts to fall off and can't keep up with the demand from the injectors. It's normal. That's why HPOP mods are so popular.

i forgot about that some other guys on here said that it was the hpop not pumping enough oil if the ses light came on and stayed on for like two min.

Just to note, the light doesn't always have to come on. Just about any tune or program will tax the HPOP more than it can deliver. I've datalogged enough trucks to see that even if oil pressure is definitely dropping, it doesn't always trip the check engine light.

But that power drop-off at higher RPM's is almost always related to oil pressure.
