EGT probe

you want to install that probe right on your drivers side exhaust manifold. somewhere on the bottom near the back of the engine. make sure you truck is running and id even have someone inside giving a little throttle to keep your cuttings blowing outwards and not going into you exhaust and through your turbo. that would be catastrophic. also before you punch through i've heard to dip you drill bit in some greese so that it will help grab any stray cuttings. hope this helps

There are many opinions on how to do it. Get on th DieselManor website - I believe they give instructions and pics.
After reading a ton on this, I would have to say that using grease is a poor idea. grease can get inside the manifold and then you can not get it or the attached metal out.
I also have heard people caution about having the engine running in case you break a bit off. It is unlikely, but what a mess if you did.
If you start w/ pilot holes and go slow, almost all of the cuttings will fall outside. The ones that go into the intake can be retrieved w/ a magnet. The cuttings are very small and will not be an issue (again - IF you go slow).
