Well ran into a problem.... I didn't have a socket to fit it. But if anyone runs into this problem. Its the same size as your lug nuts. So my 4 way worked. Geez I feel my neck turning red. Any way I had about 20% oil pressure if that. Now its up around 60%, or better. Thanks Yall!!
If it's a stock oil pressure sender and gauge I think it's just an on/off deal. As long as you have like 7 PSI of pressure it reads on the gauge as having pressure.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Dodge you are 100% correct, its a glorifyd idiot light 7psi needle gose to the center less it gose to center. I modifyed mine to work with the older sty gasser sender and now it works like a guage.
Mine has a hex shaft under the sender chamber.
Open end wrench is the only tool I can use to remove mine.
ATS turbo systems get their oil from the NA oil pressure gauge location.
Stock Ford turbos are ATS systems that were modified by Ford.
The senders on the 94 turbos is alot smaller than that one.The senders on the 94 turbos is alot smaller than that one. Is yours a on off switch dave? or is it an acutal presure sensor? It looks alot like the one I put on my truck.
86 and older are supposed to be a dynamic switch. My 86 has a sensor that looks like that. I never took a volt meter to it to see if its a real dynamic signal range, but my oil gauge does seem to read logically in my truck.
I'll have to verify it some day since I have a small mechanical gauge that I could try if I get some time to kill.
It does vary with the readings, but when I look at the mechanical gauge and the dash gauge they are not in sync.
Idle the mechanical gauge reads low, dash gauge reads high.
High RPM the mechanical gauge reads high, dash gauge low.
Now the dash gauge never moves, I unhooked it.
First week I owned the first reman engine, I was on the way to the state chapter meet and greet on the interstate.
At idle the oil pressure showed at the top of the normal range.
About 40 miles down the road, oil pressure was sitting at the very bottom of the normal scale at 2600 RPM.
Instant side of the road turn the engine off and coast in kind of stop to see what happened.
Full of oil, no obvious leaks.
The engine was sounding normal when I turned it off, and I was 10 miles from nowhere, so I started it up, oil pressure back to high side of normal.
Start down the road slowly, and it stays up.
So I started speeding up, the faster I went the lower it got but everything sounded fine.
When I got home, manual gauge before I went to sleep that night as well as a test drive.
Plenty of oil pressure on the manual gauge.
New sending unit, gauge back to normal, for three days.
So I just took the sending unit out and left it out.
