amp and sub

im fixing to buy a 12" MTX sub for 50 dollars still brand new in the box. And an 600 Watt amp. i was just wondering where do yall think is the best place for the sub enclosure to sit? i was thinking of making a little box to set right behind my center console and side mount the amp on the box.

If it can be mounted in less than 5" or so, you should be able to mount it behind the seat on a regular cab. You don't say your cab style in the signature, but Flareside should be single cab. Although your picture looks like EC. On an EC, you can build a box to put anywhere.

well i went another direction as far as subs go. i got 2 12" Crunch Ground Pounder 500 Watt subs. still got the 600 Watt amp. it'll push them fine the sub box will be sitting on my back seat behind the drivers seat.

Secure it down, use your seat belt or straps or even brackets. Looks decent, how does it sound?

And don't drive the truck until you do. This is VERY important, your life depends on it.

until you get into a wreck, all it takes is the weight of a bowling ball to kill.

also, i would try to hide your equipment, it looks to me like you are somewhat flaunting it and this can cause someone to want to steal it. just a thought

Are you counting yourself?

This is what I meant by "killer Bass". A colleague of mine killed his entire family this way in a little fender-bender. (wife, 2 kids) It's bad enough to discover that your stupidity just cost your family their lives, but to then realize that you are going to jail...

My 85 spr cab has risers in it, that came from the dealership long ago. I actually have a basic picture of the piece for the back support from when I was dismantling.

Get a hold of these and you have options. This is the route I'll be taking to get it under my rear seat. No generic boxes, and find a slim-depth sub or two. I'd personally opt for that over what you have, but you are going to have to spend more again.

Just an option - depends what's more favorable for you.

That's what its had in it longer then I've owned the truck, so thats always been normal for me. That riser is around 4 inches (or so) from what I can remember back taking it apart.
